When is the best time to book a maternity nurse?
It is always best to book your maternity nurse as soon as you possibly can. Our experienced maternity nurses are often booked many months in advance.

What is a DBS?
The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) was established in 2012 and carries out the functions previously undertaken by the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB). All our maternity nurses hold an up to date enhanced DBS.

What if my baby arrives before my booking contract is due to start?
Most maternity nurses allow time in between contracts and if they have availability, maternity nurses are generally flexible and will be able to join you and your baby (speak to your maternity nurse directly). In the event that your baby does arrive earlier then expected and your chosen maternity nurse is unavailable then please get in touch. If you feel that you need a temporary maternity nurse until your chosen maternity nurse is able to start, we will endeavour to find you emergency cover, although this can not be guaranteed
What if my baby arrives after my booking contract is due to start?
Maternity nurses usually charge 50% of their hourly, day or weekly fees as a retainer for the waiting time. Please discuss the retainer agreement directly with your maternity nurse.
What if I cancel my booking prior to the start of the contract?
If you cancel your booking prior to the start of your booking contract, no agency fees will be refunded and the maternity nurse will retain her non-refundable deposit.
What if my maternity nurse cancels prior to the start of the booking contract?
If your maternity nurse cancels prior to the start of your booking contract please let us know asap. We will endeavour to find you a suitable replacement maternity nurse, obviously at no additional cost. In the unlikely event that we are unable to find you a suitable replacement maternity nurse, all agency fees paid will be fully reimbursed.
What if I want to extend my contract?.
If you want to extend the booking, please let us know and we can confirm if your maternity nurse has availability. If so a new invoice will be issued for the extended dates.
What if I want to terminate my contract earlier?
If you choose to terminate the contract early, no agency fees will be refunded and 50% of the remaining contract will be paid directly to the maternity nurse.
How do I pay the agency fees?
Agency fees are to be made in pounds sterling by either bank transfer, cheque or cash. Payment is due to be paid in full within 7 days of the date of the invoice, or before the booking commences, whichever is sooner.
How do I pay the maternity nurse fees?
The maternity nurse will advise you of her preferred payment method. But usually payment is made weekly by either cash or bank transfer.
Do maternity nurses work over the weekend?
Most maternity nurses who have a family of their own tend to have weekends off, however there are some maternity nurses who chose to work weekends. Please ask your potential maternity nurse at the interview.
Do maternity nurses work over Christmas and Bank Holidays?
Many maternity nurses prefer time off over Christmas and bank holidays, however some maternity nurses will work over the Christmas period. Please note bank holiday and Christmas rates are 1.5 - 2 times the hourly or daily rate. If you are looking for cover over Christmas it is best to book as early as you possibly can.
Can my maternity nurse advise me which products to buy?
Yes many maternity nurses have been working with babies for many years and will be able to advise you on the advantages of many product.
Can my maternity nurse me help me organise the nursery?
Yes maternity nurses are experienced in organising the nursery, from the best positioning of the changing station to the cot. To ensure that nursery furniture is best placed for safety and practicality.
